Lehd’s rules

Our unique village invites you to explore the beautiful surroundings “from the water” or “from the land” – whether by bike, boat or canoe, hiking or simply enjoying nature.
To ensure that your visit remains a pleasant experience for everyone, we ask you to observe a few rules:
- Please respect our privacy: Lehde is not a museum village, but a living place where real Spreewälder live all year round. Please respect the privacy of the residents.
- Be considerate:many properties, meadows and paths are private. Please stay on the accessible paths and areas.
- Stick to the waterways: Only use officially navigable waters with your canoe and only picnic in designated areas.
- Protect our nature:food for our animals grows in the meadows. Please do not leave any garbage, especially glass bottles – broken glass can be dangerous for the animals.
- Dispose of dog waste:Help us to keep the village clean and remove your dogs’ droppings.
- Use the toilets:You will find public toilets in Lübbenau on the market square. If this is too far away, please ask in a friendly manner at an inn. The “natural toilet” is not an option – we simply have too many guests.
- Pay attention to the weather in winter: As we only have a limited winter service, please adapt your behavior to the weather.
- Be careful on icy surfaces: Frozen meadows and watercourses can be dangerous. The ice is not checked or released – please be careful!
- No fireworks on New Year’s Eve: pyrotechnics are prohibited to protect haystacks, wooden houses and thatched roofs from fires.
- Leave a lasting impression:behave in such a way that the guests after you can also enjoy the Spreewald to the full.
Ranger Alex explains the paddling rules
Paddling in the Spreewald is wonderful – past picturesque Spreewald villages and imposing forests. To ensure that people and nature can coexist in harmony here, there are a few paddling and behavioral rules that you should observe. Who could explain this better than Spreewald ranger Alex from the biosphere reserve?
Thank you for your understanding and consideration. We wish you an unforgettable stay in Lehde and in the beautiful Spreewald!
