Our festivals

Shrove Tuesday
As an association, the community is close to our hearts, which we keep alive at sociable Christmas parties, Women’s Day and Children’s Day celebrations or the summer festival, the annual pensioners’ boat trip, but especially at our traditional carnival, with the typical traditional costumes and lively polka.
Shrove Tuesday is traditionally celebrated in February – the men in dark suits and the women in the typical festive costume with embroidered skirts, shawls and hoods. And according to customs, no one is allowed to sit until midnight and no dance round is allowed to be skipped.
Pensioner boat trip
In addition to Shrove Tuesday, numerous other festivities enrich our annual schedule. One of these for our pensioners is the annual pensioner boat trip. It offers the village’s oldest generation, who are often less mobile, the opportunity to get together and spend a few relaxing hours with neighbors and friends.

Shooting festival of the volunteer fire department
In the fall, a few weeks after our Lehde festival, the shooting festival of the Lehde volunteer fire department follows. According to old custom and tradition, the shooting king or queen is first announced at the “big harbor” in Lübbenau and received by the festive traditional costume women of the village. Afterwards, accompanied by our marching band, the winner’s boat is taken to the winner’s property. However, the subsequent celebration remains a private pleasure.
