The village community

The location and the need to organize on and about the water have developed a special community among the people of Lehde. The “Lehd’schen” – as we call ourselves – are dependent on each other and have been close neighbors for centuries. This solidarity is also reflected in the living traditions. Regional customs are particularly cultivated in Lehde – from traditional festivals such as Zampern and Fastnacht to traditional costumes.

This community is particularly impressive when it comes to planning and organizing the annual “Lehde Festival”. We don’t need an event agency to organize it! Here, we push our beer trolley into place ourselves and set up the marquee together. We revitalize old technology and present craftsmanship and tradition ourselves. Anyone between the ages of 9 and 99 can take part.

Dorfgemeinschaft

This cohesion is also necessary in everyday life. Quickly ferrying someone over with barge (to “get them across the road”, so to speak) moving the tractor with the neighbor’s big barge or pull the barges out of the water onto land before the frost. All of this is only possible together.
