At the invitation of the Lower Sorbian Language School<\/a>, nine ambitious amateur photographers traveled to the Spreewald in Burg on May 16, 2026. Ferryman Manuel Jarick showed a section of the Burger Spree, which merges into the rustic Spreewald immediately after the harbor. Christa Dziumbla gave a tour of her farm at the Dziumbla traditional costume embroidery <\/a>, showing her embroidery and, above all, herself in Sunday costume. After a long walk along the Ringchaussee, with photo stops at the “cute” calves, Dr. Albert’s koi garden<\/a> awaited the photographers. After an excellent meal in the garden’s restaurant, the boss posed for the photographers as the Prussian king in uniform, as “Old Fritz”. At the same time, the participants learned a great deal from him about the origins of the garden and the Prussian settlement history of Burg.<\/p>\n

After another, this time shorter, walk, we reached the Annemarie Schulz House<\/a>. Marie-Luise Pachael gave a guided tour of the old house near the Bismarck Tower, which has been lovingly and painstakingly restored. Today it serves as an event venue and is often used for weddings.<\/p>\n

Jens M\u00f6bert demonstrated beekeeping in the M\u00f6bert pottery<\/a> in Burg, a historic building in itself: well protected and equipped with a smoker, he opened the hives – the photographers only had the protection of their large-format cameras … but they too remained unstung.<\/p>\n

The last stop of the day was the Liersch farm<\/a> in Burger Erste Kolonie, which also houses vacation accommodation. This complex has also been lovingly reconstructed and was once named the most beautiful house in Germany by a television station. Steffi and Willi Liersch showed off their farm, supported by Naundorf model Amalia. She had to stand “sometimes here” and “sometimes there”, pick daisies or simply daydream in the area. Nine photographers have their own ideas of the perfect photo….<\/p>\n
