As has been customary for many years, the pack was handed over to the ferrymen’s association at the official opening of the barge season. The club chairman Georg Kreppel received the decorated herd from Ellen Kosbi. The festive setting was provided by numerous traditional costumes from the region, which landed in the harbor, paced by ferryman Thomas Hegemer. Marlene Jedro hosted the event, the “Fidelen Gaglower” played and motivated some couples to dance on the jetty – dangerously close to the water! <\/p>\n

On the harbor grounds, Leiper from the sponsoring association showed the spinning room as it once was, with handicrafts, spinning and net knitting. A total of six ferrymen offer tours in and around Leipe, and of course also to other places such as Lehde and Burg on request.<\/p>\n
